Kendalls

Kendalls Campground is in the Rubicon Valley Historic Area in the Rubicon State Forest. The traditional owners of this area are the Taungurung people. The campground has separated and open grassy areas set along the Rubicon River, suitable for both small and large groups. The river is accessible for fishing and paddling, with walking and mountain bike opportunities on the Kendall Link and Cicada Circuit trails. From Melbourne, follow the Maroondah Highway; turn right onto the Taggerty-Thornton road and right again onto Rubicon road. Kendalls Camp is approximately 5.5.km along Rubicon Road. The camping areas are accessible by 2 WD. Kendalls Camp is closed from the Thursday after the Queens Birthday holiday through to the Thursday before Melbourne Cup. Closure: This site is seasonally closed over the wetter months to protect the site from damage.
